Rose Kaimakami, MSc MCSP
Highly Specialist physiotherapist working on the Emergency floor in London, integrating acute-care expertise, complex rehabilitation and digital innovation into calm, one-to-one practice in West London.
Profile
NHS Highly Specialist ED Physiotherapist • Clinical Innovator • MedTech Adviser
I practise as a Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist on the Emergency Department and Acute Floor in London, with more than eight years’ experience across acute medicine, rapid-response services and complex rehabilitation. Alongside my NHS role I run Rose the Physio, delivering evidence-informed MSK and complex rehabilitation and drawing on the same calm, senior-level reasoning used in high-pressure hospital environments.
CV (PDF)Background
My clinical background spans Emergency Department practice, acute medical units, rapid-response community teams and domiciliary rehabilitation across West London. This breadth allows me to recognise risk early, understand how hospital decisions translate into real life at home, and design rehabilitation plans that are both ambitious and realistic.
Current work focuses on providing high-impact assessment and rehabilitation on the emergency floor: supporting senior decision making, optimising patient flow, guiding safe discharge planning and mentoring developing clinicians. Previous roles in community and rapid-response services involved urgent home visits, admission-avoidance pathways and complex functional assessments.
I hold an MSc in Advanced Exercise Physiology and a BSc in Physiotherapy. I am registered with the HCPC and a full MCSP member, with ongoing development in acute illness management, trauma updates, advanced exercise prescription for older adults, pain management and contemporary rehabilitation approaches.
Practice Ethos
The style of practice is structured, measured and quietly direct. Each session starts with focused questioning and clear movement assessment, followed by an honest explanation of what is driving your symptoms and what can, and cannot, be changed.
Treatment combines targeted exercise therapy, functional conditioning and selected manual techniques. Programmes are paced carefully to your medical background, current capacity and goals, with a strong emphasis on autonomy, safety and sustainable progress rather than quick fixes.
Where appropriate, I coordinate with consultants, GPs and other allied professionals so rehabilitation sits cleanly within your wider medical care.
Areas of Focus
- MSK and complex rehabilitation following surgery, injury or significant deconditioning
- Long-standing or recurring symptoms that require structured, progressive rehabilitation
- Strength, conditioning and movement quality for active living and performance goals
- Support for medically complex backgrounds where careful pacing and monitoring are essential
- Postural control and functional readiness using the Therapeutic Postural Reset (TPR) framework
Physiotherapy complements—rather than replaces—medical care from your GP or consultant. Where there is diagnostic uncertainty or concern, onward medical review is prioritised.
Clinical Innovation & Projects
Alongside clinical practice, I contribute to service design and digital health. I developed the Therapeutic Postural Reset (TPR), an evidence-informed framework integrating posture, autonomic regulation and functional readiness, used across MSK and complex presentations to improve movement tolerance and recovery.
I am also the creator of FALLCHECK+, a digital mobility-risk and triage tool designed to support clearer assessment, documentation and decision making for complex presentations. As a clinical adviser at Rose Meditech, I help shape digital rehabilitation workflows, governance structures and product features so that technology reflects the realities of frontline clinical work.
